Meet the CREators: Coy Davidson

Our Meet the CREators series focuses on individuals in the commercial real estate space crushing social media and blogging. They are leaders not necessarily because of the number of likes, although their work often has a loyal following. To truly be a CREator means delivering consistent, creative content that dominates their niche.

Time and time again, we’ve talked about the need to be consistent and think long-term in your social efforts. Need proof? This month, we highlight Coy Davidson who has built a professional personal brand by consistently putting himself out there.

Coy is a commercial real estate professional based in Houston with Colliers International. He started in 2000 and focuses on corporate office space and health care providers. As The Tenant Advisor, he's built a brand around helping this specific niche and freely sharing his expertise to the industry.

Creating CRE content

Coy’s brand presence starts on his blog, where he publishes both reports on market conditions and thought leadership pieces surrounding his specialty. Examples include, “The Increasing Importance of Real Estate in Healthcare” and “25 Articles for a Better Office Lease.” Everything on the blog focuses on providing information about the real estate market to his visitors. The site easy to navigate with just a few tabs.

Coy on social media

Coy runs an Instagram account that interestingly runs counter to what we typically see on the platform. While he does have lots of video on Houston sites and real estate, his tactic is more about letting the pictures speak for themselves. He doesn't include a lot of captions, text, or hashtags.

To know what Coy is thinking, look at Twitter. This is where Coy shines. As of drafting, he had 32.7 K followers and had published 52.9 K tweets. He’s shared over 4,000 photos and videos on his Twitter account.

Clearly, Coy is a prolific Tweeter. Keeping this busy Twitter posting schedule helps Coy stay top-of-mind. On a fast platform like Twitter, a constant presence is quintessential to reaching your target market.

In short, all content that is target audience would find interesting. With this prolific posting, Coy adds his own commentary to what he is sharing. All his posts position him as the local market expert in office and healthcare real estate.
